Someone please help me with my fishless cycle.please only answer if you are experienced.?
You are doing it right. Nitrite can start showing up in the first week or two. There likely will not be a drop in ammonia for another week or so. Each tank cycles a little differently but it does sound like you are on track. You only keep adding ammonia if the ammonia is below the 4ppm. Above 6ppm and it actually kills the beneficial bacteria, so adding a lot every day can work against you if too much is added. Testing and keeping proper levels is the correct way. You are doing it all correctly. Eventually the ammonia will drop very quickly after you add it, and a level that brings it to about 2ppm every day when this happens is fine (where the "add every day" comes in). you wont have a constant reading of 2 or 4 when this time comes, rather it will have a reading once added and should drop to 0 that day.
