I just turned ATHEIST, how do I get rid off the RELIGIOUS DOCTRINE that was instilled in me over 14 YEARS?

I felt the same way when I was 16. I was raised a Catholic. When I was 24 I came back to Catholic Christianity. I came back with a deeper more mature understanding. I realized that what I had rejected was a childish aproach to faith. That was the faith of my parents. They were good simple people. That kind of faith was enough for them. But I demanded intellectual conviction of a scientific nature, something that is not entirely possible. I came back because of the good example of Catholic and Protestant Christian friends. I heard their philosophical, and theological arguments. I kept reading every good book that I could get my hands on. I do not necessarily follow the conformist thoughts of my of my co-religionists., but i do believe that I am following the road that Christ wants for me. I have now married, I have returned to being a Catholic, but a different kind of Catholic. I have children who are having their own faith struggles. Life is a journey.
