Dissapearing stars? Above Orion, England.?

Sounds like you caught a glimpse of sunlight reflecting off of the solar panels of a satellite, this is actually pretty common, you just have to know where and when to look unless you are just lucky. Some of these satellite flares are even bright enough to see in the daylight.
