I need help with his situation?

This is sort of embarrasing but how do you get rid of dark underarms? i started shaving my underarms and it got darker not really dark but a little tanner than my skin. for soo many months ive been looking at how to get rid of dark underarms. instead of shaving i pluck my underarms. i looked online and it sed that St. Ives apricot scrub gets rid of the darkness. i bought it and so far ive only used it for 2 days. ive been seeing great results but dont know if it will work. can someone help me? if u have the same situation and went through this before let me know. what is the best cure?
