Bleeding Lasting Too Long?

Starting last week, I started having pink spotted bleeding with a brown discharge in it, but only when I wiped. It has been going off and on since then. At first, I thought it could be just a lighter period, but hasn't gone away-and still only happens when I wipe. I am in a monogamous relationship with my fiancee of a year, and we have been trying to conceive. Has anyone else had any or all of these symptoms? I am planning on going to the doctor, but I still wanted to compare notes with others who have experienced this same thing.
